Lovely readers, I’ve been nominated for Best Fashion Blog as a part of The Boston A-List! I hate the awkward call for votes, but time is running out and I would very much appreciate if you took the moment to vote for me if you think I’m worthy! Thank you all! xo
A Royal Blue
Oh, I’m sorry, have we not discussed my love for all things related to Kate Middleton’s style lately? You’re in luck today then.
Ever since the Duchess donned this sky blue Stella McCartney during a visit to the National Portrait Gallery last week, I’ve had the color on my mind. You can still find the actual dress here for a pretty penny, but below are a few more affordable options in this glowing hue…
(1) Tiered Vest Dress by Boutique, Topshop, $150
(2) Plenty by Tracy Reese Everyday Royalty Dress, ModCloth, $268
(3) Stretch Silk-Blend Dress, DKNY, $118 (sale!)
(4) Flocked Cobalt Dress, Anthropologie, $188
(5) Duck Print Skater Dress, ASOS, $36
(6) Maritime Dress in Skinny Stripe, J.Crew, $60 (sale!)
Are there any famous figure influencing your style lately? Colors you’ve been craving?
You Gotta Regatta: A Double OOTD
Kelly and I have been friends since we were eight years old. We’ve always shared a love of Lilly Pulitzer, so I was far from surprised when she showed up for a visit last week sporting the same You Gotta Regatta print in a skirt that I was wearing in a dress. I’m featuring a double outfit post today since the opportunity was just too good to pass up! Hers a little more tailored and sophisticated, mine a little more free and hippie-esque, I think these looks perfectly describe our personalities, and why we’re best friends.
On Emily: Treena Dress, Lilly Pulitzer // Pearls, J Crew // Crossbody purse, Deux Lux [similar shape; similar color] // Starfish cuff, BaubleBar [similar 1; 2] // Green bangle, vintage [similar] // Charm bracelet, Tiffany & Co // Sandals, Charlotte Russe [similar]
On Kelly: Lynnie Skirt, Lilly Pulitzer // Tank, Lilly Pulitzer [similar] // Jewelry, David Yurman // Watch, Juicy Couture [similar] // Navajo Sandals, Jack Rogers
Be sure to check out this print in the Georgie, Franko, Delia, Lottie, and Camie Dresses, plus the Callahan Shorts!

Ooh La La
While miss {av} is on a little overseas voyage, we’re doing a Eurotrip Friday’s Fancies in her honor. I’ve still got Parisian details on my mind, and while this look may a bit too over-the-top touristy for France itself, I think it would work just fine from afar.
Oh La La Jersey Sweatshirt, Zoe Karssen, $160 (also in blue!)
Lacie Shorts, LOST via Tilly’s, $40
5-Zip Clutch, Rebecca Minkoff, $330
Skinny Mini Bow Studs, Kate Spade, $48
Love Notes Bow Ring, Kate Spade, $48
Carousel Bangle, Kate Spade, $250
Les Vernis Nail Colour in Jade Rose, Chanel, $26
Crocheted Perimeter Scarf, Anthropologie, $38
Petunia Heel, Seychelles, $100
Cupcakes, Cashmere, Books, and Seasons
Cupcakes and Cashmere is both the first fashion– and first food– blog that I ever followed. I don’t even know how many years I’ve been reading it, but I do know that I read it every day. Even on those busy mornings when I neglect every other blog in my reader, C&C just begs for me to click on it. It is Emily Shuman’s work that inspired me to start my own fashion blog, that influences how + what I write about on my company’s food blog, and that motivates me to become a better writer, photographer, stylist, cook, baker, and entertainer on a daily basis.
I could not be more excited that her infamous blog is now a book, especially because I’ve been waiting for it to arrive since the day I preordered it about six months ago! Divided into four sections based on the four seasons, Emily shares the same sort of tips that her blog does: how to dress for any occasion, how to organize your closet, how to entertain on a moment’s notice, how to give a flawless at-home manicure, how to find your perfect photograph pose.
I can already tell how quickly this book is going to turn into my go-to guide throughout the year. I’m sure you’ll see me incorporating elements of it on here… maybe we’ll even do a little experiment Julie + Julia style… Emily + Emily?? 🙂
Cupcakes & Cashmere is now available from Abrams Books and can be purchased [as soon as possible] wherever books are sold!

Gray Days
Chambray shirt, Old Navy [similar] // Lace shorts, H&M [similar] // Headband, Jack Wills [similar 1; 2] // Necklace, J. Crew // Around the World Watch, Urban Outfitters // Bracelets, Alex & Ani; Presh; vintage // Sandals, Tommy Hilfiger
I usually try to wear my brightest and cheeriest clothes on gray days, to combat the dreary weather, but this particular morning was just asking for something comfortable and calming. Nothing felt better than slipping into a worn chambray shirt and some soft shorts. An arm party and big bow cheered the overall look, and day, up a bit.
Big note! I’ve received a lot of comments about the above watch that I wear often, and I’m happy to say it’s back in stock at Urban Outfitters!
I Believe in Pink
Rosy favorites from lately making me smile…
Raspberry sorbet from a favorite Boston restuarant

Bfrend‘s Coco bracelet
Fun flamingo mug of coffee to start the day
Finally trying Starbucks’ new Refreshers
No pink post exists without some Lilly Pulitzer
Neon goodness from H&M
Wedding Wear
One thing I didn’t even realize until I got into my twenties was that there is a very clear and distinct wedding season, and we are right in the midst of it! I already showed off what I’ll be wearing to one wedding this summer, but here’s another dreamy wedding guest look I have in mind, this one for a more formal affair:
Bow Monde Dress in Silk Taffeta, J. Crew, $250
Petal to the Metal Clutch, Marc by Marc Jacobs, $238
Knotty Bangle, Lilly Pulitzer, $28
Chunky Chain Cuff, BaubleBar, $24
Sawyer Heels, Kate Spade New York, $328
This is my absolute favorite J. Crew dress… in the history of J. Crew dresses. My friend Natasha wore it to our graduation last May, and they keep bringing it back with more and more colors! Heck if it’s still available by the time some poor soul decides to marry me, you can be sure that my bridesmaids will be wearing it 🙂
How many weddings will you be dressing up for this season?
