It’s no secret that I love French macarons. Love actually might be an understatement. That’s why I was thrilled when I got to make a quick stop at Maison Ladurée on Madison Ave while in NYC this past weekend.
I counted the days for this little Parisian bakery to open from the moment I first heard it was coming stateside, and I first visited it in November during my last New York trip. I even attempted to make my own macarons in the meantime. But let me tell you, the real thing? Nothing even compares.
Have you visited any of the Ladurée locations, in the U.S. or overseas? Tell me your favorite flavors if so, I have yet to try all of them!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Haha, and no worries. Yesterday was the first time I worked out, and I’m so sore today that I can barely move. There is definitely nothing to be jealous of there. 🙂
And I have heard so many good things about macarons. Never eaten one, though, because every time I’ve been at a bakery that has them, they have been ridiculously expensive, even in France, where I thought they’d be cheaper. I was too cheap to justify buying any, because I didn’t know if I’d like them, and didn’t want to waste $15 on food that I didn’t like.

Can you believe that i’ve NEVER tried a macaroon? They look amazing but i just haven’t had the chance to try one. I’ll be in NYC for 1 day next weekend with a friend to help her find a wedding dress, so maybe I’ll just have to stop here and get some 🙂

I went twice during my first and so far only trip to Paris. Not ashamed to admit I spent 50 Euros there! Don’t do the conversion to US dollars. It’s actually sad how much I spent on macaroons (and mini cakes and bread…).
My favorite flavors were the flower ones. I know that sounds weird, but rose and lilac were so amazing! Oh now I’m hungry for some. I’m making a beeline for these when I’m in New York next!

Yum!!! I’ve never been to the New York location but I frequented the Champs-Elyse Lauduree when I lived in Paris a few years back.

I was in Paris last October and I visited three Laduree locations and brought them back for everyone. (Everyone that was worth the hefty price, hehe). They are so decadent! My favorites are: vanille, framboise, raisin cannelle, and caramel a la fleur de sel.
I also did a renactment of this macaron research: http://ohhappyday.com/2011/10/happy-things-in-paris-macaron-research/
Now I need to go to NY!
