I’ve never really been one to play by the rules when it comes to getting dressed for the seasons, especially not with this no-white-before-Memorial-Day rule [though I will say please don’t let me catch you in white shorts during the fall]. But summer is the time when it feels most appropriate to lounge about in white sundresses as much as you can!

Last week we talked LBDs, but this week it’s Little White Dresses I have on my mind.
When the weather is warm, I just love slipping into easy breezy little white dresses [see here and here for past instances!]. Until summer hits, many choose to avoid white, though I fully believe LWDs can certainly still work in chillier months. I’ve seen a ton about winter white lately, and I’m a huge advocate for it, especially in dress form. A higher neckline, purer shade of crisp snow white, and wintery details all help with winter LWD’s case. French Connection has an overwhelming supply of women’s dresses, and I’ve pulled a few of my favorites.

And at the same time, it is January. Which means we are in the deepest part of winter and yet the fashion world is busy thinking about way warmer temperatures! So for dreaming of months ahead…

I’ve been denying Labor Day’s unavoidable and eminent arrival for a while now. (This is why I don’t do seasonal bucket lists– I never get to quite everything I want to!) But Labor Day Weekend is here and I’m heading home to the beach for the first half of it, so might as well embrace it.
Even though my family has only recently joined me in New England, we would spend every August of my childhood in the very same town they live in now, and one of my most vivid memories is how chilly those summer nights on the water could get there! So as we share Dark & Stormys on the Adirondaks as the sun goes down + the sunset canon goes off, and say goodbye to summer this weekend, this would be my ideal outfit.

Apparently all I wear on the blog these days are white dresses. I’ve gotten so much use out of this one (also seen here), but my favorite thing to dress it up with is delicate pink accessories– like this adorable Spike the Punch necklace designed with Pretty Shiny Sparkly!
Not that I have ever paid much attention to the rule anyway, but now that Memorial Day is behind us it is officially time to rock the white! Celebrating summer + this fresh timeless color with a Friday’s Fancies this week…!
