There is nothing quite like spring in Boston. In typical New England fashion, the temperatures and precipitation forecasts change by the day hour, but those warm days. Oh we cling to those early warm day like nobody’s business. Flooding to the Boston Common for “sunbathing,” or the waterfront restaurants for happy hour.
There are a few essentials I’ve found I get the most use out of in the springtime… sunny days or not. Here are my closet staples for March-May::
[ 1 ] Trench Coat // I rely on the same London Fog trench I wear in the fall– waterproof, and it has a removable liner, depending on how chilly it is outside. Also on sale right now!
[ 2 ] Umbrella // Just, necessary. Invest in a cute one because if you live where I do, you’ll be using it a lot!
[ 3 ] Mini Crossbody // Just like your closet lightens up after winter, your load should too. There’s something so refreshing about frolicking around with just the necessities in a tiny bag.
[ 4 ] Sleeveless Blouse // I’ve come to realize how versatile these are– wear with cropped pixie pants, almost any cut of skirt, under a cardigan, with shorts even when it really warms up!
[ 5 ] Swishy Skirt // Because it’s springtime and you can.
[ 6 ] Sun Hat // Sunny skies and Derby Days are ahead!
[ 7 ] Floral Sundress // “Florals? For spring. Groundbreaking.” —Miranda Priestly
[ 8 ] Neutral Flats // It’s not quite open-toe weather, but you can finally ditch the boots. Here’s a necessary shoe that will go with most things in your closet.
[ 9 ] White Tennis Shoes // Keds will always scream spring to me– after being cooped up all winter, I try to walk as much as possible once the warmer weather hits, and these are the best when it comes to comfort!
