I am LOVING all of the oxford booties I have been seeing lately for fall! Mary Janes are usually my go-to heels to wear with tights, but I’m thinking investing in a pair of these may not be a horrible idea…
Whatcha think?

As I was assembling today’s Tuesday shoe post on rainboots I stopped and thought never mind– I’m done with my two-year-long span of browsing for rainboots. I’m just gonna get ’em.
And I came come with these beauties…
So sorry my loyal readers, no Zappos Tuesday for you today. I’ll return next week with six picks for you all instead of showing off my own 🙂 [sorry about that….]
Zippity shoe da, Zappos Tuesday….
I don’t think it’s any secret that leopard is one of the biggest trends to be sporting this fall, especially when it comes to footwear. Personally, I’m excited for it– no longer is leopard being seen as tacky (or is it still to you? I want to hear your thoughts!). But I am KICKING myself because I have been searching for weeks now for an old pair of leopard flats I had in high school and I’m finally admitting to myself I think I must have thrown them out years ago, never stopping to believe that animal print would actually come back in. Little did I know!
But alas, I’m now without them and instead have my eyes on these beauties now…
Think this is a style to stay or still too trendy? I say a little leopard isn’t so bad.
Last week, I showed you what Lauren Conrad considers the six shoes every lady’s closet needs. I agree wholeheartedly with her choices, but I think our gal pal left out a few, so here are six more types of shoes I consider to be essentials 🙂
Dressy Flip Flops: I feel like flip flops have such a bad reputation for being lazy and sloppy. But I am so not a fan of heels in the heat, or flats that get sweaty, so I rely on flip flops in the summer. And there are alternatives to rubber ones. A neutral, but classy pair like these will go with just about everything.
Wellies: Unless you’re one of the lucky ones who lives in one of those climates where you never have to worry about rain (and I guess LC is in Southern California…), rain boots are a must. I can’t think of a pair of shoes I’ve gotten more use out of living in Boston.
Comfy Heels: Yes, every girl needs a striking pair of comfy nine-inchers for nights out on the town, but how often do you want to wear those to work? Or a nice dinner with your family? A low heel, or even some higher ones with good ankle support, are priceless in my book!
Boat Shoes: I love my Sperrys. I can’t remember how I ever lived without them. So preppy, comfortable, and versatile. And hello– waterproof!!
Mary Janes: Another more work- or class-sensible alternative to your average flashy high heels. Plus they are absolutely timeless.
Ugg Boots: I don’t care how ugly or trendy you think these are, I will come right out and say that I. LOVE. UGGS. Have since high school. I don’t wear them with mini skirts or in the summer or while hanging out with Snooki. I wear them when I need something warm and comfy on my feet, and when I need shoes to transport to work in before putting on a less-comfortable alternative.
I’d also normally include TOMS in this list, but unfortunately Zappos doesn’t sell them yet! What other shoes do you need in your closet??

Got this beauty in the mail last week:
Now I can’t say I’m Lauren Conrad’s biggest fan. But boy, girl can dress. And the book is fun because she breaks down the list of what every closet needs. Â According to Lauren, there are six types of essential shoes:
Ballet Flats//Basic Pumps//Peep Toes//Embellished//Gladiators//Boots
There’s a few more I think I’d add if it were my list, but more on that next Tuesday 😉

I feel like my pink-and-green-and-nautical prep side has been surfacing a lot lately. Since we’ve reached one of our last summer Tuesdays, I thought today’s Shoesday should be dedicated to my favorite warm-weather preppy soles from the best of the preppy brands.
Lilly Pulitzer Wedges
Sperry Top-Siders
Jack Rogers Navajos
Lacoste Flats
Kate Spade Espadrilles
Vineyard Vines Flip Flops
What did I miss? What other shoes can you preps not live without?
In other preppy news, Lilly Pulitzer‘s huge summer sale started today, and items are already flying! I’m not supposed to be shopping, but the super discounted price tag on the Murfee scarves was just too hard to resist!
Sunday Shopping Skirt, Anthropologie
White tee, H&M
Pearl necklace, J Crew
White patent flats, Lacoste
The shoes I’m wearing here are easily one of my favorite pairs I’ve ever owned. They’re so special to me because I got them in Paris four years ago (?!) when I was there with my family. And they go with just about every outfit I own so they were incredibly worth it. They are long gone from Lacoste, but Gabriella Rocha sells an almost identical style, available in 5 10 16 colors! I’m lusting over the pale pink ones though:
On another note, two great giveaways going on this week! Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore is giving away a Graphic Image 2012 Planner (so chic!!), and Ashley Brooke is offering a gorgeous Vineyard Vines clutch (want. so badly.). Check out those links and get entering!!
Have a fun weekend everyone! I’ll be busy moving!
Have any of you seen the new TLC special on Pippa Middleton? Now I do like Pip, but I really don’t see her as outshining Kate. However I was really annoyed to hear that she receives so much criticism for dressing “too old for her age.” I think she has very classic and chic style and even though she’s no Kate, I still adore her looks!

Here are some pieces from British TopShop I could see this sassy sister wearing…
Still, as much as I like her, I do wish I were the one in line to be the Duchess’s lady in waiting.
Speaking of younger sisters, have you all visited mine’s blog?

A quote from the utterly fabulous Carrie Bradshaw right there.
I’ve been finding a lot of inspiration in Sex and the City lately actually. Cliche, yes maybe, but I still think Carrie has a lot of wisdom to offer me. And fashion tips. After all, my favorite part of SATC will always be the clothes. Well, and the shoes…
Best part is, you don’t even need their budgets to afford most of these (though where do they all get so much money??).
Which girl do you think would wear each pair?
