I know I sound like a broken record, but I do lovelovelove living in the city. And as much as I complain about the public transportation system, it really is a blessing, as I don’t dare try to own a car on these one-way narrow roads//in these icy winters//with these crazing parking fees.
That being said, sometimes it’s necessary to get out of here. Whether to get away from the crowds and tourists, or to feed my wanderlust and explore somewhere new, I feel it pretty much imperative to make an escape from the city at least once every couple weeks.
Then again, getting anywhere that isn’t on subway line is always a bit of a daunting task. Or was, until I tried out Enterprise’s new CarShare program.
My little sis and I were itching to do some outlet shopping [ hello summer sales + new fall goods! ], but the closest outlet mall is in Wrentham, about 40 miles out of Boston. So we booked a car for a few hours through CarShare, picked it up with a single tap of a keycard [ keys were already in there ], and hit the road— it was almost too easy! Five hours, one delicious country meal, and way too many shopping bags later, we dropped it off just as easily as we had picked it up. No waiting in line for the next representative, or talking to any representative at all for that matter.
