That cute lil iPhone time-hop feature reminded me that it’s somehow been a full year since we spent a couple nights at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. It was our first hotel stay – or really first trip of any kind – since before the ‘vid. We, admittedly, weren’t yet vaccinated (the dark days), but were lucky enough to visit during a very low point in NH’s cases. The hotel also did a fantastic job of keeping things safe and sanitary in and around their property, while making sure we felt comfortable. Multiple outdoor dining options made the experience even better, and you can be sure as heck our faces from the nose under did not see the light of day.
This was a bucket-list getaway for me, and it lived up to my expectations (and then some). I think I’ve mentioned my debilitating fear of disinterest in skiing before, so I was more than tickled to experience Bretton Woods during the fall (though it did snow one week later!!).
I love resorts like this (I say that as though I frequently visit resorts like this) because you can fill a full weekend (or even longer) with activities that don’t require you to ever leave the property:
Horseback riding
Carriage & sleigh rides
Gondola rides
Disc golf
Adaptive sports and recreational activities
Full-service spa
…and indoor/outdoor pools, golf, tennis, all that other bougie resort jazz
In what should come as a surprise to no one, we ate our way around the hotel too:
Main Dining Room | ~Sweeping~ views of the mountains, open for breakfast and dinner.
Stickney’s Restaurant | Pub food and steakhouse on the ground floor of the hotel, open for lunch and dinner.
Rosebrook Bar & Veranda | Oh my gosh if this isn’t reason alone to visit. Drinks and charcuterie on the veranda with my little family on the perfect fall day? Something I will remember forever.
The Cave | This bar was made for nightcaps. We missed it a la covid closures, but as of now it’s up and serving.
Morsel’s Coffee Shop | Coffee, treats and sandwiches to go. We picked up lunch here to picnic down by the creek that flows on the property.
Rosebrook Lodge | Ever wanted to eat at the top of a mountain? This is their brand new restaurant, coffee shop, and event space at the summit of Bretton Woods ski area. Half the fun is getting up there in the gondola. Don’t mind me pushing every single one of my engaged friends to entertain this as a wedding venue so I may reap the benefits.

Since our visit, they’ve also completed their renovations, which means almost 70 new rooms and a rooftop terrace(!!).
Even without an affinity for winter sport, I still would love to return in the winter. Christmas at a luxury resort surrounded by snowy mountains? I meannn twist my arm.
