I’ve been lucky enough to spend a good amount of time at Chestnut Hill’s The Street shopping center this summer… brunchin’ at Davio’s with girlfriends, Yoga on the Green (ok, inside, may have been raining that day) with lululemon, window shopping-and-sometimes-buying at Splendid, Jonathan Adler, and one of my favorite preppy havens: J.McLaughlin.
This particular JMcL location may be in suburban Chestnut Hill, but walking into this store always makes me feel like I’m somewhere between The Hamptons and the Upper East Side. Crisp, preppy, polished. I’ve been on the hunt for some scalloped shorts, and these are the first pair I’ve found that don’t make me feel like I’m street walking (too short) or taking my child to soccer practice (too long). Did I mention they come in navy too?
And like I resist this peacock blue sweater. The prettiest hue and perfect weight for summer nights. I am also seriouuuusly lusting over the Port Strip Sweater and Wisp Cotton Scarf. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It is still sundress season after all!

The Street is located at 55 Boylston Street, and you’ll find J.McLaughlin on the far left of the center, next to Portobello Road. They are having a HUGE sale right now, and I’ve spotted tons of items in-store that I haven’t seen online.
Coming up August 1st, Boston babes do not want to miss The Street’s Sidewalk Sale & Street Festival— live acoustic music, free MiniLuxe polish changes, kid-friendly activities for your little ones and, of course, exclusive sales at all of the stores, including JMcL!
