New England gave us the nicest gift this weekend, 86 degrees in October. And even better that this year’s indian summer fell on Columbus Day weekend!
Did anyone else get to experience weirdly warm weather this week?

How were your weekends??
What a fabulous weekend at rendez-vous new england! Hosted by the lovely ladies AV of Long Distance Loving and Jillian of Cornflake Dreams, this was my first blogger meet-up and I don’t think I could have had more fun! It was wonderful meeting so many new friends, especially ones whose blogs I already follow– so great putting a real-life face to the name! And of course finding new blogs is always a huge highlight for me 🙂
All in all, it was perfect. Can’t wait to meet up with all of these ladies again! Here are some of the highlights of the events… thank you Instagram for making capturing so easy!
Gummi Bear Martinis at The Charlesmark Hotel and Lounge
Martinis with Kate of Suburban Sweetheart!
BEAUTIFUL earrings I won from Stella Jewelry. Pearls and sparkle? I am so there.
With the fabulous {av}– what a host!
Button table at Grey’s Fabric & Notions. Oh my goodness. I want to live in this store. More about them and the SoWa market in a later post…!
FINALLY got myself some Roxy’s Grilled Cheese! I’ve been trying to find myself in the same location as this food truck for months. Completely lived up to my expectations 🙂
Sparkly end to an amazing weekend.
So SO many thanks to AV and Jillian for putting this together, as well as all of the awesome sponsors! Our goodie bags=heaven. Can’t wait to do this again!!
And I’m linking up with Miss a {little} dash of ash again today for another Monday Instagram Link Party 🙂
This is my baby brother…
We moved him into college Friday…
To this beautiful street…
Then we drove a couple miles to the other side of town to move me into my first post-grad apartment!
…Ok, we didn’t actually do any moving– that’s happening next weekend. And therefore I don’t have any good photos to share. But I did do a lot of painting and cleaning and enjoyed a tiring but fun day with my new roommates! Then our parents rewarded us with a deelish dinner out…
So Labor Day Weekend for us was less beach-y and more labor-y but good all the same. It’s a big time of change but what can you do but embrace it? 🙂
Hope you all are enjoying a third day of this weekend, remember to link up to share your Instagrams!
Well Irene, I think you’ve made your point! I hope all of you and your families and homes safely avoided her wrath. What a damper she caused on everyone’s weekends.
Or, tried to cause on ours. We had Red Sox tickets and since MLB refused to call off the game (despite the pouring rain), and since my dad refused to let the tickets go to waste (we weren’t getting refunded), we ventured out into the storm for some good ‘ol fashioned baseball. Ponchos and all.
I’ve been in Boston for four years now, yet this was the first Sox game I’ve made it to. Can’t say this is how I pictured it, but it was definitely a fun adventure nonetheless. My brother even had his hands on one of the fly balls! Until a grandpa grabbed it out of his hands, that is. It’s okay he had a cute grandson, we forgive him.
And then Sunday the crazy lady hit. And boy did that wind howl, from about 10 am yesterday and all through last night. Here’s the nautical outfit I wore to brave the storm, props to A Little Bit of Lacquer for the idea!
We’re still without power (I’m blogging from the train), so yesterday was full of candlelit board games and reading. Well, reading for my mom. Now that I’m a Kindle-kind-of-girl I couldn’t even read since our WiFi was out and I had no new books! Pathetic I am in this day and age, I tell ya.
But in all seriousness, I hope none of you had to experience anything worse than a power outage from Irene. My town definitely has some clean up and repairing to do, but more than anything we were lucky.
I’m linking up with a {little} dash of ash again today to share all these Instagrams. You all should as well, I want to hear your weekend/Irene stories!
Linking up with a {little} dash of ash today for her new Instagram link-up! Snapped this pretty shot while sitting out on the harbor with one of my best friends Samantha who came to visit this weekend. More of that fun later 🙂
In other news, today is my twenty-second-and-a-half birthday. Where in the world does the time go?!
Ok not totally wordless, just a few to preface: snapshots below are from my beautiful weekend in California! Â If only my job weren’t east coast-based…

Happy Monday lovers!
I got to spend a wonderful weekend in Rhode Island with a bunch of my college friends… can’t believe it’s only been six weeks since we graduated because it feels like we’ve been apart forever! Anyway, seeing one of my best friends, Samantha, gave me some inspiration for this post.
Sam has got to be one of the best people I know at accessorizing. I’ve always envied how easily piling on jewelry comes to her– she can wear about nine bracelets and a ring on every finger and make it look so natural! Example A:
She has a style that’s hard to copy, but I can at least offer you some cute rings that remind me of her. These picks are from pretty mainstream stores, but I find that this style of jewelry is best found at little beach shops and individual boutiques– you’ll find incredibly original pieces there. Also, don’t shy away from those jewelry kiosks in malls; some can be pretty tacky, but a lot also have some hidden gems. Literally.
And on another note, can we talk about how fun Instagram is? Here are some other edited shots from our beach day:
Here’s to a great week for you all!
