Nearly Naked Run
Bet that caught your attention, huh?
Quick post today kids– want to bring your attention to a super fun fashion-for-a-cause event, and if you’re in Boston listen up!
Wiggio.com is bringing two Nearly Naked Runs to Beantown, specifically Emerson College and Boston University. It’s designed to “undress, de-stress, and do good!” How do you participate? Bring any clothes you’d like to donate to the campuses, and then participate in a mile-long fun run around the Boston Common and Esplanade, respectively. The clothes will then all be donated to the Big Brother / Big Sister program of Boston.
Runs are Wednesday, April 25 at Emerson and Thursday, May 3 at BU. Check out those links to the Facebook events for more info!
And if this trailer doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will!
post script. You don’t have to be a student– so no excuses!
Spring
The Dandelion’s pallid tube
Astonishes the Grass,
And Winter instantly becomes
An infinite Alas —
The tube uplifts a signal Bud
And then a shouting Flower, —
The Proclamation of the Suns
That sepulture is o’er.
-Emily Dickinson
Spring is springing and I could not be more ready for it! Loved this teacup with an Emily Dickinson poem scripted on it that I spotted at the ICA last week on a date with some really pretty blogger ladies 🙂 Linking up with a {little} dash of ash for Instagram Monday!
Wednesday Words
Beauty on the Streets
This past warm Saturday, I ventured out with my camera trying to soak up as much warm goodness as I could. Yet I found myself pretty darn uninspired. Face it kids, fall is long gone. And the colors of winter just aren’t rocking my world lately. So I stopped looking at landscapes and searching for remnants of orange and crisp leaves, and instead tried to pay attention to the mundane scenes on my street that I walk by every day but hardly pay attention to. And you know, I found them quite pretty.
Here’s the evidence via Instagram, and as always, linking up with a {little} dash of ash for Instagram Monday!

Bedroom.
Happy November! I can’t believe that November 1st means that I have officially been a resident of my “new” neighborhood– and bedroom– for two months now. I figure that means it’s about time for a couple photos of the room like I promised!
I got my inspiration from Carrie’s apartment, when she has it redone in the Sex and the City movies…
My version, though surely full of differences, came out better than I ever could have hoped!
A little preppy, a little boho, and with a hint of sparkle– I feel right at home here 🙂 The frames are full of a mix of vintage postcards, little sayings, and some of mine and my friend Samantha‘s photography.
And just because it’s not a Carrie [or Emily, for that matter] lair without the clothes…
I think I’ll stay awhile.
Blue Skies
Linking up with a {little} dash of ash today for her new Instagram link-up! Snapped this pretty shot while sitting out on the harbor with one of my best friends Samantha who came to visit this weekend. More of that fun later 🙂
In other news, today is my twenty-second-and-a-half birthday. Where in the world does the time go?!
Ooh my goodness…
Not that I am anywhere close to ever needing one of these, but how beautiful is this video showcasing BHLDN‘s new gowns?
It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland or something. Gives me butterflies!
Hummingbirds
I don’t know how this was ever officially decided on, but sometime over the last few years, the hummingbird became the official mascot of my apartment/roommates (better known as Green Street Girls).
Missing these girls more than ever, hummingbirds have been on my mind a lot lately. Amanda sent us a photo of this cookbook last week, available from (of course) Anthropologie.
They’re not a trend right now, I can say that for sure, but I managed to scour a few hummingbird fashions on the shelves right now:
Chihuly
After waiting an hour and a half plus a day, I finally got to see the Chihuly exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts! Dale Chihuly is an American glass blower who does these huge, intricate pieces. The art was breathtaking… the colors were absolutely stunning. Â I was silly and just assumed that photography wouldn’t be allowed so I didn’t bother lugging my DSLR… very stupid of me indeed because everyone had their cameras and now all I have are some little iPhone photos. Â Yet even from them I think you can tell how beautiful this stuff is! This is the last weekend it’s at the MFA, so if you’re in the area and able to see it my only advice is to get there super early to avoid lines/tickets selling out. Â I’m not sure where the works are headed next, but if you ever have the chance to see anything by Chihuly I highly suggest it!! Â Click the photos to see the crazy detailing closer up.
Now that I’ve got glass art on my mind, I’m so excited to go home this weekend to our town’s Heritage Days… a local glassblower opens her studio for demonstrations and a huge jewelry sale!
