My little sister and I have always dreamed about what our bachelorette pad would look like if we ever had the chance to move in together. Since I’ve been crazy busy with work + life (and meeting fabulous Boston Bloggers!) this week, she’s here to show you what our dream apartment would look like…
Five [roomy] Things
Weekends at Home
These past four days were exactly what I needed. Weekends at our new home are perfectly filled with lots of:
I hope you all had wonderful Thanksgiving weekends full of whatever makes you happy too 🙂 Linking up with a {little} dash of ash with these Instagrams! Happy Monday!
Bedroom.
Happy November! I can’t believe that November 1st means that I have officially been a resident of my “new” neighborhood– and bedroom– for two months now. I figure that means it’s about time for a couple photos of the room like I promised!
I got my inspiration from Carrie’s apartment, when she has it redone in the Sex and the City movies…
My version, though surely full of differences, came out better than I ever could have hoped!
A little preppy, a little boho, and with a hint of sparkle– I feel right at home here 🙂 The frames are full of a mix of vintage postcards, little sayings, and some of mine and my friend Samantha‘s photography.
And just because it’s not a Carrie [or Emily, for that matter] lair without the clothes…
I think I’ll stay awhile.
Au Revoir Green Street
Tonight is my last night in my beloved college apartment. Â Over the course of two years, we’ve had nine different people call it home, but I was here the full time- no sublettin’ for me! Tomorrow though, it gets packed up and I am out. But since I’m big on reminiscing, here are some of my favorite parts of this place:
And finally the girls who shared this home (well, most of them):
Blue Skies
Linking up with a {little} dash of ash today for her new Instagram link-up! Snapped this pretty shot while sitting out on the harbor with one of my best friends Samantha who came to visit this weekend. More of that fun later 🙂
In other news, today is my twenty-second-and-a-half birthday. Where in the world does the time go?!
Lighthouses and Heritage
My whole life, my family has spent Augusts in a little harbor town on the south shore of Massachusetts, just down the road from a lighthouse.  This past weekend, the town celebrated its annual Heritage Days, but it was especially exciting this year because that lighthouse that I grew up with, built in 1811, celebrates its 200th birthday this year! I thought it was the perfect excuse to wear my new Sailboat Skirt, courtesy of an Anthropologie second-cuts sale 🙂Â
Heritage Days was also super special this year because, for the first time, we are actual residents of the town! Since I’ve been out of the house for a few years now and my little brother graduated high school in June and is on his way to college himself, my parents finally made the move to their dream town (and my mom’s Barbie Dream House… more features on that later). Heritage Weekend is filled with lots of music, food, and sidewalk sales, but my favorite part is Luminaria. To kick off the weekend, every resident along the harbor lines their property with luminaries on the Friday night.
It’s just as beautiful to me today as it has been for the last twenty some years of coming here, and I’m so glad we finally get to call this home.
Urban Outfitters Hardware
Have you all seen Urban Outfitter’s new hardware section? Â I’m seeing a heavy dosage of Anthropologie inspiration within some of these choices, and I’m loving it.

I’m thinking designing a bedroom at my family’s new house isn’t going to be so bad after all…!
Anthropologie’s Tabletop Design Tool
A lover of dinner parties and entertaining, I am having way too much fun today with Anthropologie’s Tabletop Design Tool.
This new interactive tool allows you to set sample tables using actual Anthro products. Â Start with a color scheme (I used Sea + Citrine), then drag and drop the place settings. Â Now if only I could afford everything I just set my table with! Â Luckily, you can save your designs so if you just can’t stop thinking about those peacock plates, you can buy them later!
An alternative eating surface…
This past weekend, I finally got to visit my godmother’s new house that she and her husband recently built… coincidentally (or not at all) right across the street from my parents’ new house 🙂  Alice is super talented at furnishing on a budget, and I just love what she chose to use for one of their kitchen “tables”:
It’s her grandmother’s old washing bench. Â Their place is right on the water, and it’s very Maine cottage-y, so we both thought it fit in beautifully with the house’s interior style. Â Plus, since there’s only two of them, it’s the perfect size for a quick little breakfast or lunch together. Â So resourceful!
And as if the inside of the house wasn’t pretty enough already, check out their outdoor surroundings:
Can’t wait to get to spend some weekends here again this summer!
