I think y’all are a little confused about this coastal grandmother style trend. I say this out of love, as the daughter of a real-life coastal grandmother. Just because nap dresses are shapeless and pearls are involved does not make it authentic CG. See my take on grandmillennial style for that.

Coastal grandmother style is linen sleeves, khaki pants, cream knits, beige shoes and hats (bucket or woven) that you all definitely made fun of before TikTok said they were cool. It’s white wine with an ice cube in it, an Ina Garten cookbook, chunky knit blankets stacked by the door, a Nantucket basket purse that will be passed to her granddaughter, herb gardens and just-for-fun art classes.
