In the summers when I was young, we would take the ferry from the South Shore to Boston, for a day in the city. Maybe because these were my first views of The Bean, the harbor/waterfront area will always be what I most associate with Boston, and will always be my favorite place in this town of ours. These are some snapshots from a quiet morning walk a few weeks ago, before the summer tourists began pouring in…
Post-Memorial Day White
I’ve never really been one to play by the rules when it comes to getting dressed for the seasons, especially not with this no-white-before-Memorial-Day rule [though I will say please don’t let me catch you in white shorts during the fall]. But summer is the time when it feels most appropriate to lounge about in white sundresses as much as you can!
[ Amalfi Cutwork Beach Dress, French Connection, $102 ]
[ The Jean Vest in Storm Cloud Wash, Madewell, $88 ]
[ Booze Cruise Murfee Scarf, Lilly Pulitzer, $88 ]
[ Nappa Leather Starfish Sandal, C. Wonder, $138 ]
I’m hopping on this denim vest trend, and I love the idea of giving the white even more color with an additional scarf. How do you dress up your white?
Summer of Lilly
[ Calissi Dress, Lilly Pulitzer, $228 ]
Summer is now… unofficially… in swing! Even though Memorial Day Weekend temperatures weren’t exactly soaring, I can’t help but plan for warmer summer days… here are some of my favorites from the newest shipment of Lilly Pulitzer…!
[ Tria Dress, $159 | Foley Dress, $398 | Amanda Dress, $198 ]

How gorgeous are all of these blues? Will you be purchasing anything from the summer line?

Finally we have some sun + heat on our forecast for this week, because spring has been pretty gray, wet, and windy lately! Normally I’m all for vinbrant colors and prints to brighten up dreary days, but this particular one had me matching the weather…
SHELL CHIC’D
Seashells, my belles, welcome back! I’d like to introduce you to the blog formerly known as so anthro: shell chic’d.
When I started this blog in 2011, I put little-to-no thought into the name. My best friend and roommate at the time used to use the phrase as a joke, and that’s kind of how the blog started as well. Never could I have guessed that this little creative outlet of mine would become such a huge, therapeutic part of my life. One that has introduced me to more amazing individuals, brands, and causes than I could have dreamed of. I believe the new name and design are less limiting than the previous, and more representative of what my style + lifestyle, as well as this little space of the web, have become.
No matter how you subscribe, content [should] redirect just fine! But just in case, follow via your drink of choice::

And the following remain the same!

Finally, if you have been ever so kind to have added me to your blog roll in the past, I would appreciate more than words if you could change the name you have me listed as. Need a button? Grab this one!
It, along with my new header, was designed by my good friend and talented graphic designer Jay– check out his work here! The watercolor in the header was done by my sweet mother.
Can’t wait to hear what you all think! Thank you in advance for your patience as we transition!
Big Changes Ahoy!
Sweet readers, I’m stepping away for a few days to do some maintenance on the blog that has been in the works for quite a while now. Some big changes are coming, including a new name. More on that later, and I promise it shouldn’t cause any more work for you! I apologize in advance should anything looks funny around here over the next few days, and I’ll try to work behind the scenes with as few disruptions as possible! In the meantime, you can find me here:

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, and see you all on Tuesday for the big reveal!
See You Saturday
It’s taken me a while to decide how I feel about Kate Spade’s newest venture: Saturday. I’ve loved the Kate Spade brand since I was a little girl, and it’s been fun to watch it grow and change over the years. Saturday, rightfully so as a separate brand, is entirely different from anything I’ve seen Kate Spade present before. With very bold, graphic prints, it definitely does not speak to the “classic” styles you see as a part of the original Kate Spade line. But you have to admit, while exactly full of timeless pieces, the new brand is rather fun…::
[ Slip Neck Tee, $30 // Shirttail Tank, $30 // Gather-Round Top, $85 ]
[ The Skinny Jean in Highlighter Pink, $110 // Easy-Tapered Pant, $120 // The Skinny Jean in Yellow, $110 ]
[ iPhone Case in Fine Fellow, $25 // iPhone Button Stickers, $15 // Sneaks by PF Flyers, $65 ]
[ Small Top-Handle Satchel, $140 // Custom Weekender, $280 // Bucket Bag, $120 ]
[ Sexy Back Dress in Cubic, $180 // Scoopback Dress, $140 // Sexy Back Dress in Abstract, $180 ]
Talk about brights! I’m curious to know if their trademark highlighter yellow, pink, and black + white will stay the primary colors of the brand, or if they will eventually mix things up. And if anyone has made a purchase and can speak to the quality of the products, I’d love to hear!
What are your thoughts on the newest member of the Kate Spade family?
Show Your AOS
Jacket, Old Navy [similar] // Olivia Skinny Jeans c/o Articles of Society // Party Crossbody Purse, Lilly Pulitzer // Bracelets [ask!] // Resort Chic Wedges, Lilly Pulitzer
There’s a little saying around this part of the country:: if you don’t like the weather in New England, wait a minute.
And nothing has ever been more accurate. One day we’re pushing 80, the next I’m back to layers and pants. Articles of Society sent me these bee-yoo-tiful coral skinnies recently, and they have been the perfect addition to my spring closet– for days when the temps don’t exactly feel like warm spring.
How fun is all that pink? I’m also so tempted by the same pair in mint and this light-wash sky blue.
Have a pair already, or ready to purchase? Articles of Society is currently running an Instagram contest– tag photos of your favorite pair of AOS jeans with the hashtag #ShowYourAOS for a chance to be featured on their blog and win a free pair! Deets below:
Summer Stripes
I fell a little bit in love with this Joie tank dress the other day. Or, a lot in love. Subtle stripes in shades of sky blue and navy? Swoon. I could wear this all summer long.

[ Meeda Blazer, Ted Baker, $240 ]
[ Anchors Away Pendant Necklace, C. Wonder, $48 ]
[ The Barnstable Bag, Kiel James Patrick, $148 ]
[ Carmelita Wedge Sandal, Kate Spade, $206 (sale!) ]
A Ted Baker Summer
A couple weeks ago, I attended a Fashionably Late show at the Liberty Hotel in Boston– this one featuring Ted Baker London. I’m a huge fan of all things related to British fashion, and it was so fun to see some of Ted Baker’s newest summer pieces. A few of my favorites from the evening…
[ MEEDA Blazer, $298 // ZOHE Cropped Jacket, $310 // KERISA Jacket, $248 ]
[ ALIMA Pleated Collar Top, $175 // LAVAA Colour Block Midi, $225 ]
[ PERLAA Floral Dress, $298 // CANNA Dress, $198 // ATTAVIA Printed Maxi, $375 ]
