london cafe bostonA couple of weeks ago, my mother and I dressed for High Tea at Boston’s London Cafe on Newbury Street. Located beneath the boutique hotel Royalton Suites, the tearoom was intimate and welcoming. It didn’t have quite the cute factor of other tea shops I’ve visited in the area, with their dainty floral china and knit cozies, but it did feel quite traditional.

Nancy’s Gone Green

As long as I’ve been in Boston, I’ve loved spending Sundays at the SoWa Open Market in the South End, and I’m so excited that an expansion of it, Greenway Open Market, is now open on Saturdays along the Rose Kennedy Greenway. At both of these outdoor set-ups, you can find the most adorable little eco-boutique, Nancy’s Gone Green.

Nancy and Mary, a mother-daughter team, opened Nancy’s Gone Green in 2008 with the hope to make our world a little bit more beautiful, every day. And beautiful, they make it. I would buy their entire stock of inventory if I could, from the eco-chic dressesskirtsshirts and more, to the fair trade and recycled jewelry and accessories. The best part is how affordable the products are– half under $50… how often do you see that in small boutiques??

Never have I ever met a cupcake with such a perfect balance between frosting + cake (and I’ve met my fair share of cupcakes). I am now acquainted with Gtown’s Red Velvet, Key Lime Pie, and Lemon Berry flavors– next on my list to try at 83 Newbury Street is most certainly Blueberry Cheesecake though 🙂

The Hamptons

Sixteen plus hours spent in buses and cars this past weekend was no walk in the park, but was more than worth it for a trip to East Hampton, New York to surprise + celebrate one of my best friend’s birthdays. As much as I love New England in the summer, it was a real treat to take a mini vacation to The Hamptons and enjoy some super soft sand, noticeably warmer ocean water, beach bonfires, and of course drinks + laughter with a group of my best college friends.

Weekend trips like these are what constantly keep my motivation up, especially on Mondays! Do you have any planned for this summer?
