Bridget Meets Boston

My everyday style is definitely more East Coast than West Coast, but there’s something about California’s light and laid-back but still put-together way of dressing that I can’t help but love– especially in the warmer months.

No Rest For Bridget is a SoCal-based boutique that just opened its first store on the East Coast– conveniently for me and all you other Beantown gals, located on Newbury Street. Prices are super affordable, whether you’re looking for work wear, date night, or girls-night-out looks.

Virtually the entire store is organized by color. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited this makes me– when I shop, I’m shopping for specifics way more than I am browsing. I need a lavender dress for graduation. I’m looking for a pink top for my birthday. Really on the hunt for some mint jeans.

In addition to clothes, there’s jewelry and accessories galore. Color-coordinated, of course 🙂

You’ll also find fashion books and sweet accessories. I spotted the new Kate Spade book and this fashion title with Audrey gracing the cover!

Basically, run, don’t walk, to this store. If you’re not in Boston or California (see here for full list of locations), still be sure to follow NRFB on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated– more stores will be gracing the East Coast soon!

Anchored Down

I’m back to posting today because I know we have to at least attempt to return to a sense of normalcy around here. Monday’s events are still first on my mind, and my thoughts and prayers are still with the victims and all affected.

I’m just about done with pants for the year. And tights. Unless they are of a pastel color, pants are out and it’s dresses and skirts with bare legs from here on out. Until they no longer cause extreme goosebumps (seen below), oxfords and lower leg-covering footwear are in.

Try Before You Buy: Warby Parker Edition

[ Warning ] There is a lot of my face in this post.

I have a love/hate relationship with picking out glasses. On one hand, it’s always fun to select a dozen frames, try them all on, and narrow it down. But I constantly feel like my optician would reaaally rather I just made a decision already. Warby Parker is revolutionizing this process though, with their new Home Try-On Program.

Here’s the lowdown: Pick out five frames from their website you think you might be interested in, they arrive in your mailbox promptly after, and then you have five days to make a decision! Try them on as many times as you want, snap some Instagrams and share with your friends to get their opinions. When you’re done, send ’em on back. No joke, this program is completely free (to everyone in the US– not just blogger folk I promise!). There isn’t even a shipping cost. It’s pretty darn great.

What’d I try on? I was personally on the hunt for some tortoise frames and fun sunglasses!

Kelly green and navy. Sailboats. Anchors. I really am becoming predictable aren’t I?

I just adore this skirt eShakti sent me for spring. Not only did they fit me to my exact measurements, I was also able to customize the skirt length. I’ve never owned a piece of clothing that flatters my waist like this, plus the buttons are the cutest touch. See here, here, and here for other favorites of mine from their spring line!
