A little lighter than sage, a little dustier than mint, matcha green clothing and homeware has been creeping into my shopping cart more than once lately. While I’ll stick with rose tea lattes, I am LURVing this color for winter –> spring transition pieces.

Y’all know I love a good Made in New England story, right? That, coupled with my recent efforts to shop more sustainably, means I am crushing hard on Sea Bags. It feels like just about every New England coastal town (except, ahem, Scituate) is home to a shop, but if you aren’t familiar with the brand, I’d be pleased as punch to introduce you.
Sea Bags are handcrafted from recycled sails in Portland, Maine. Because of that, each one is unique, sustainable, and super durable. In 20 years, they’ve saved over 700 tons of sails from being thrown away in landfills. Rockstars I tell ya.
I’m no stranger to this brand. One of my best friends gave us all wristlets when she asked us to be her bridesmaids. The wine bags are one of my favorite hostess or engagement gifts to give. Translation: New England Winter Wardrobe, Part II.
We’ve been gifted climate change an unseasonably blissful 62-degree March day, and while anything above 55 is an anomaly, it does mean that we’ve made it over the hump of hell winter, and *maybe* just maybe start switching out the Bean Boots for wellies and earmuffs for headbands.
I’m not planning on restricting myself to another capsule wardrobe, but there are a few pieces I find myself wearing on repeat every March – May {and a few others that continue to sit on my wishlist}. Part dos of our Salem, MA lighthouse hunt and the site of a certain baby’s epic blowout!
Fort Pickering Lighthouse sits offshore from Salem’s Winter Island Park where you will absolutely never find me camping but where braver souls than I are certainly welcome to. We parked ourselves here around 3pm sunset to the prettiest views of Salem Harbor. Already making plans to return with a picnic in tow when should the temperature reach above 46 degrees.
Not going to lie to you for a second, I am super in love with grandma cardigans at the mo. The more pastel the better. Shedding wool and all. Tempted to add this Free People Fine Time Cardi in its alternate color to my cart, while also crushing on this Bonfire Cardigan, Fairisle Cardigan, and Deena Cardigan. How loveshackfancy has convinced me that a $500 sweater that looks like it came out of Sophia Petrillo’s closet is chic is beyond me, but we’re rolling with it I guess.

One month into winter, seven more to go. I am going stir👏crazy👏 and we haven’t even made it to February.
Finding balance has been tricky recently. On one hand I know these sweet infant days are fleeting, and I feel as though we should be soaking up time with her at home during quiet winter weekends. On the other, Sunday nights keep showing up leaving us wondering if we did absolutely anything with ourselves over the past two days, apart from laundry, Netflix, and a CVS run. If that.
So, we packed our life away a diaper bag last Sunday and drove up to the trusty North Shore of MA, where we used to daytrip so often pre-baby.
Seeing as it took us one three hours to get our act together and out of the house, it’s sort of a stretch to call this a day trip, as opposed to a lighthouse tour + some food stops (highly recommend The Hawthorne’s Sunday Jazz Brunch, tea at Jolie Tea Company, and hanger-induced Taco Bell on the way home). Feels good to get back to my roots though. Throwing on some Free People and dragging my husband, and now child, to the literal edges of the coast to take photos in front of glorified traffic control centers.
Derby Wharf Lighthouse (ahem, Light Station) is just outside of downtown Salem, and sits on a wharf jutting into the harbor that separates the spooky from Marblehead. Slightly ok a lot less impressive than most lighthouses we have visited over the years, but it kind of grew on me, ya know?
I ordered these fleece-lined Tretorn sneakers online and stared at them for approximately nine days trying to decide if they were a keep or return. Super glad I went with keep. I guess it’s the whole mom thing, but I’ve turned into a crocs sneaker person this year. The fleece lining on these makes them winter-friendly.
