I’m pregnant!
And honestly, having the time of my life. Might retract that later, but so far, I love it. Swollen feet and nausea and possible hernia and all.
Shopping, though, has been tricky. I work from home 90% of the time (bless you gems who have to go through your first trimester in an office!!!), so I’ve lived in leggings and tees for the last six months, but now that spring is finally on the 10-day forecast, along with my normal spring+summer schedule of some sort of wedding or baby (not mine)-related celebration on the calendar every other weekend, it’s time to get dressed.
Maternity clothes have killed my self esteem like woah because turns out, I am noooo longer my pre-pregnancy size, like most brands instruct you to order. So I’ve been on a weeks-long treasure hunt for everything empire or stretchy-waist and loosey goosey. Bonus points if there’s a chance I can make it work post-bebe.
Here are just a few of the best bump-friendly spring dresses I’ve found so far::
Lilly Pulitzer Melody Maxi Dress | Persifor Pink Gingham Dress | Line & Dot Yellow Dress
Rebecca Taylor Spearmint Dress | Gal Meets Glam Jasmine Dress | White Floral Luna Dress
Vineyard Vines Blue & White Stripe Dress | Gal Meets Glam Aurora Dress | Deep-V Cotton Dress
I’ll put my money on it being due to the fact that their chief designer is pregnant herself, but Gal Meets Glam Collection has the BEST bump-friendly spring dresses – everything seems to flatter a growing tummy, and I just order 1-2 sizes up to accommodate my (just slightly) growing chest. Heyo.
Sézane is another whose airy midi + maxi dresses have me swooning and fully committed to taking on a hot, preggo summer.
