Oh, I’m sorry, you’re confused. You were looking for a guide to surviving winter in the Northeast? Yes well that’s coming, but fall is a creature of its own around here. You may think it’s all foliage and apple cider doughnuts, but it’s also days that range between 40 and 70 degrees. Unexpected biblical-like rain storms. And a lot of property-management-controlled offices and apartments who refuse to turn the heat on until November 1st.
SO! What do we do about it?
[1] Layers-layers-layers. You know those days in which it feels like the temperature drops 15 degrees when you move from the sunny side of the street to the shade?
[ tee | button-up | field jacket ]
[2] Wellies! Really, the best investment for all seasons in New England. Snow + rain + unpredictability [it was pouring the morning I took these photos!] Joules sent me this pair and I am ob-sessed to a silly level. Just look at the darling bow detail! Who better to trust on rain than the Brits though, amiright? Joules has an amazing selection, and while I’m so happy with the pair I have, I’m really digging this horse print…
[3] Big ‘ol totebags. For storing said extra layers + options for inside shoes. And for hiding said apple cider doughnuts.
[4] PGPSL [Poor Girl’s Pumpkin Spice Latte] [not pictured]. Grande blond roast + 2 pumps pumpkin with room. Add the milk and a dash of cinnamon yourself. Half the price biddies! And it works for iced too, since you know Indian Summer could pop out at us anytime now.
Downtown Field Jacket, J.Crew | Plaid Button-Up, Brooks Brothers [similar 1; 2; 3] | Striped Tee, Old Navy [similar 1; 2] | Jeans, H&M [another option] | Evedon Premium Rain Boot Wellies c/o Joules | Pearl Necklace, Urban Outfitters [similar] | Union Jack Tote, Jack Wills
Best tips for these super weird weather days?!

Layers is definitely one of the most important things — I usually wear a lot of vests as well because you can take them on and off easily.

Best “investment” I made is a parka from Zara that has a detachable inner fluffy layer so I can make the parka warmer or less warm. I really have to get a pair of rain boots as I didn’t bring any with me in Boston (luggage limitations you see)!! As for feeling cold at home, I just got a super cozy and fluffy robe to keep me warm!!
