The drop in temperatures and first snow yesterday means one thing: Bean Boot Season has arrived.
I got a pair for my birthday last winter, and I’m truly not sure what took me so long. They are one of the best investments a New Englander can make, and I promise L.L. Bean ain’t even paying me to say that.
I’m wearing the 8″ boots here, but depending on the height you like, you can also find them in 6″, Gumshoes, or, my mother’s personal favorite, Rubber Moc (the ultimate in “duck boots”).
For added warmth or protection, splurge on Thinsulate– or Gore-Tex-lined versions.
What are your go-to weather-proof shoes for fall + winter?

I think I need a pair! I usually just wear my Hunters in the snow but my feet always wind up freezing!

Cute! I have Bean Boots on my Christmas list. I’ve always gotten away with wearing Uggs (I know, I know!), but the last few winters here in the Northern Virginia area have been SO SNOWY that I find myself needing actual boots and not trying to walk very carefully over the ice in ballet flats.
I TOTALLY still wear my Ugg boots too– no judgement here haha! I just save them for dryer days 🙂

I got the JCrew version last year, since they came in a super bright green that I loved. Hands down, best money I ever spent. I don’t know how I lived here for 10 years without these…
