In case you missed it, yesterday was the launch of the limited edition Banana Republic | Issa London collection. Women everywhere were prepared to jump on the $130 version of Kate Middleton’s infamous wrap dress from her engagement photos. But when the dress hit stores and online, there seemed to be an air of disappointment with the teal/turquoise shade available, as opposed to Kate’s famous royal blue. Banana Republic has since changed the description from “Tulum Turquoise” to “Royal Blue,” but the photo doesn’t speak much justice.

I’ve now seen it in person, and while it is not quite as vibrantly blue as Kate’s original, it is a beautiful shade and definitely not what I would call turquoise. But if you’d rather a more true royal blue, here are a handful [ or two! ] of other frock options I’ve rounded up…!
[ Pencil Dress with Wrap, ASOS, $54 | Gemma Wrap Dress, Banana Republic, $98 | Baum and Pferdgarten Body Con Ruched Dress, $82 ]
[ Pencil Dress with Ruched Wrap, ASOS, $140 | Draped Jersey Faux-Wrap Dress, Calvin Klein, $108 | Twist Front Drape Dress, River Island, $64 ]
[ Scallop Dress, J.Crew, $148 | Frill Sleeves Mini Dress, French Connection, $51 | Julian Mini Wrap Dress, Diane von Furstenberg, $285 ]
[ Fine Knit Classic Dress, Missoni, $291 | Celeb Presence Dress, ModCloth, $22 | Alice & You Royal Blue Lace Dress, Dorothy Perkins, $44 ]
Will you be purchasing anything from the Banana Republic x Issa collection? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Love these pretty blues! Loving the long sleeves for fall and that scalloped one!

I wonder why they wouldn’t keep the color the same as Kate’s?! Cobalt is one of my favorite colors to wear 🙂

I looked at the stuff online, but it’s all pretty expensive still. I loved the version of the dress, even if it’s not in the Royal Blue color. I actually preferred the purple version! It was classic but such a fun color.

I like the Gemma Wrap Dress from Banana. Perhaps Issa is “not allowed” to replicate the exact same shade of blue as Kate’s engagement dress?!

Our Banana Republic (Victoria, BC) got the wrap dress in black as well as royal blue and merlot. I tried on all three and ended up getting the black. Although the fabric is fairly lightweight, it flows beautifully and it’s a very flattering style. I would have gone for the blue, but I didn’t want to look like I was wearing a Kate Middleton costume by getting the same colour as her. With my 25% off code, the price was a bit more reasonable.
