Like most others, I’ve had a hard time resisting falling in love with Pantone’s Color of the Year 2012, Tangerine Tango. I especially like thing springy hue mixed with another favorite of mine, lavender. How pretty are they together?

My mother always said “lavender is a decorator’s color; it goes with everything.” I used to have a velveteen skirt and jacket made of cut velveteen in a purple & orange paisley. If it sounds horrid, it wasn’t — it was spectacular. Total strangers would compliment me every time I wore it. That was a LONG time ago and still the best outfit I have ever had in my whole life.
So, orange also goes with purple, and I love seeing it this year with hot pinks.
