I am determined to make Halloween as a postgrad just as fun as it was as a kid. That’s why I love this week’s Friday’s Fancies theme: Halloween! I have a not-so-spooky costume already lined up for my weekend festivities, but after watching Black Swan this week, I put together this good vs. evil look in the spirit of the holiday. I could see playing both parts as fun! Assuming I had no costume budget, that is…
[Be the Buyer Sample 845] Dress, ModCloth
Swan Cloud Dress, ModCloth, $200
Kerfield Suede and Mesh Ankle Boots, Jimmy Choo, $975
Lace and Satin Patin Pumps, Valentino, $795
Swan Ring, Guess, $26
Staples Overnight Clutch, Rebecca Minkoff, $350
Topped with Glamour Headband, ModCloth, $28
Grosgain and Feather Headband, Tarina Tarantino, $163
Gold Tone Stud Bird Earrings, LC Lauren Conrad, $10
Gothic Bracelet, H&M, $8
Did you like the film? I actually felt like I was going crazy watching it, but at the same time couldn’t take my eyes away!
What are all of your Halloweekend plans?! I’m hoping for some pumpkin carvin’, pumpkin seed eatin’, and seeing if my real costumes actually works out as well as I hope…! Can’t wait for Monday 🙂 🙂

Brilliant! Both looks are beautiful. Just like every movie in recent history, I haven’t seen it. After my kids are grown I’m going to have a huge movie watching party! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

I love that movie; I saw it in theaters, and thought I was going nutty too, but I thought it was beautifully done. And I love that you picked that for your Friday Fancies 🙂

The black outfit is my favourite, especially those shoes! I watched the film a few months back, and my brother and I just kept looking at each other with a confused expression on our faces. In therms of cinematography, the film was beautifully executed. I’m sure this will be a popular choice among many girls this halloween, and by girls I mean those who are like 19 plus.

I love this costume idea! But, I must say, I did not like the film. I like Natalie Portman but was not a fan of her in this movie.

That would be such a neat outfit. I love those black mesh booties too. Someone was dressed as the black swan last night actually and it looked incredible. Hope you had a great weekend and found the perfect costume.

Love this idea!!! I really liked the movie, but it freaked me out so much! 🙂 Hope your weekend is going well!

I saw a Black Swan out last night and it made me a little bummed that I didn’t dress up like that. I like your picks!

embarrassingly enough, I haven’t gotten the guts to watch this movie just yet…but this costume may be inspiring me to conquer this fear. You could TOTALLY rock this, Emily! If only budgets could be unlimited 😉 that’s what Friday’s Fancies are for though, right?! haha. Hope you had fun this weekend! xoxo {av}
