Awkward:
-Thinking flip flops would be a much more sensible choice than heels for traveling footwear when actually they gave me such bad blisters before I even got to put my heels on! No thank you OldNavyOneDollarFlipFlops.
-The poor LF employee I walked by yesterday who had to stand outside the store telling every single person who walked by the very busy street “Heyyyy come on in check out our deals only sale of the seeeasonnnn.”
-Walking into Forever 21 as a postgrad felt like being spotted in my old college dining hall. I felt so old and out of place. I didn’t even see anyone I had gone to school with but it was that same terrible feeling of oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-get-caught-on-campus-after-graduation. Hmm, awkward that I do already know what that feels like too? Whatever, I’ll deal as F21 is a necessity.
-Changing your Facebook relationship status. Ugh.
-Being packed on the subway like a sardine, hearing a man behind me breathing so heavily and loudly, turning around to see if he’s ok as it sounds like he is running a marathon, and him just chowing down on an Egg McMuffin. Must have been really energy consuming…?
-Tripping up the stairs in a very public place. Flashing everyone because I was in a dress. Ruining my shoes. Classic story. Had to include it.
-Buying a 4 oz container of goat cheese instead of 8 oz and not realizing it until I sat down to eat the pasta at my last-minute pseudo dinner party and couldn’t figure out why the cheese cream sauce barely covered it.
Awesome:
-Getting free sample packs of olive oil to use for said dinner party.
-My friend Kayla Harrity starring in a new mini-series, The Rookie Bartender. It is the funniest thing and so worth your while to watch. And it’s only 5 minutes long so you kind of sort of have no excuse.
-Finally buying a pair of colored denim! Pink, if you will 🙂
–Little sissy coming to visit this weekend.
-Friends. Oh my god friends. Mine have been everything to me this week. Can’t thank them enough.

Seester’s really are the best. And LOL to the man on the train. Apparently eating is very laborious. Didn’t know.

what a cute little dress! it’s funny when we have those experiences that make us feel “old” – even when we’re young! i’m going back to my alma mater this weekend for alumni weekend, so i’m sure i’ll be feeling plenty old… haha
cheers!

Oh lady, I think you and I totally share the same Awkwards! I wore a knit dress yesterday during a site visit with my boss and off comes a wee little breeze that was wee little enough for me to flash him! And I totally feel old at F21 stores too – probably some of that stems from my wide-eyed confused-overwhelmed look that I get as soon as I step into one of their stores!

Oh no, one of those weeks huh? Same here. Work has outweighed fun. No time for gym. World on the shoulders kind of stuff but getting better now that it is Friday and I am on glass #2 of wine!! Cure all for everything! That and new denim. I can’t wait to break out my leopard current elliot jeans!!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve felt that way in Forever 21! Try walking in with a giant stroller and noisy baby…oh my it’s embarrassing! I’ve gotten over it now though. All pride is out the window when a good deal awaits!

Aha sorry to hear about all of those awkward moments, but I’m a very awkward person, so I know how it feels on some level! That’s fantastic for your friend Kayla! I love your dress and you are gorgeous!
