Happy Mother’s Day! Now my mom is one of my best friends, but after coming across this photo recently, I thought I’d dedicate a post to my grandmother.
She and my grandpa are the couple on the right. Weirdly enough though, my mom and I look a lot like my great aunt on the left.
Even though I only knew her in her 70s and 80s, I still understood what a well-dressed woman she was. These stretch clasp belts that are all the rage right now?
Yeah, she had two. Butterfly ones that I would “borrow” all the time.
And the terribly tacky handmade clip-on cardboard earrings I would give her as gifts? She sucked it up and wore them, despite the huge fashion feux pas, as to not disappoint me. What a classy lady.
Here are some ModCloth outfits I think she would appreciate. You know what they say: what goes around, comes around. And with fashion, I couldn’t agree more.
edit: Check out some of this jewelry of hers I wear. The bracelet is from 1965, a gift she received for winning a President’s Award as an Avon Lady!

I love the retro pieces you picked out (especially the Coffee Malt top), you’re right, what goes around definitely comes around!
