Harbor Walk

In the summers when I was young, we would take the ferry from the South Shore to Boston, for a day in the city. Maybe because these were my first views of The Bean, the harbor/waterfront area will always be what I most associate with Boston, and will always be my favorite place in this town of ours. These are some snapshots from a quiet morning walk a few weeks ago, before the summer tourists began pouring in…

Windswept Waterfront

Despite some breezy winds, it was unseasonably warm last weekend in New England, and that called for a walk around Boston’s waterfront area. As much of a tease as it was, it was definitely a welcome break from the blistery teen temperatures, and certainly put me in the spring mindset!

Not that the rain ever really stopped here, but I do like waiting for fall to break out my pillar box red Hunter Wellies. Funny how you can get so sick of something in your closet, like riding boots… a camel coat… mittens, and then find a renewed love for them after a few months off!

Nancy’s Gone Green

As long as I’ve been in Boston, I’ve loved spending Sundays at the SoWa Open Market in the South End, and I’m so excited that an expansion of it, Greenway Open Market, is now open on Saturdays along the Rose Kennedy Greenway. At both of these outdoor set-ups, you can find the most adorable little eco-boutique, Nancy’s Gone Green.

Nancy and Mary, a mother-daughter team, opened Nancy’s Gone Green in 2008 with the hope to make our world a little bit more beautiful, every day. And beautiful, they make it. I would buy their entire stock of inventory if I could, from the eco-chic dressesskirtsshirts and more, to the fair trade and recycled jewelry and accessories. The best part is how affordable the products are– half under $50… how often do you see that in small boutiques??

The Rookie

I probably have the coolest roommate in town.

Meet Kayla. Actress/TV Personality/Reporter/Reality Show-turned-Real Bartender/Fashionista/Bffl.

We had fun playing in the leaves + roaming around the waterfront during the beautiful fall day that was yesterday (can you say 66 degrees in November?) and she let me use her as a photo subject since I’ve finally dusted off my old Nikon.

To see more of the photos, make sure you like Kayla Harrity on Facebook, and if you want a laugh, you have got to check out her show, The Rookie Bartender!
