2014 was, a year. Some of the best moments of my life. Some of the less-than-best. A year of change, for sure.
Blogging is a funny thing. People want the sparkly, sugar-coated, curated version of your life. Then they grouse when you aren’t “real.”
I’m so grateful to have this little space to turn to, and for the community it has introduced me to. But don’t for a second believe it’s a perfect representation of my life. Don’t for a second believe that any public diary you read is a perfect representation of that person’s life. This blog is my happy place. It’s where I document the glitter and the good times. I leave a lot out. I’m okay with that. In fact, I love that. Ya dig?
A heartfelt thanks to YOU all for following along! While I blog for me, I can’t help but thrive on your kind comments and words of encouragement.
So, because I like year-end roundups, I’ll sign off with some of my favorite style and travel memories of good ‘ol twenty-fourteen…
We did the unthinkable and traveled to Nantucket in the middle of a February blizzard. Then warmed up with a flight down to Miami for a wedding in March. I Amtrak’d down to NYC and drove over the bridge to the Cape a couple times over the spring. We visited Newburyport, Bennington, and Saratoga this summer, plus our annual week on Martha’s Vineyard. And we headed north to Concord, Portland, Maine, and Long Island this fall. We closed out the year way West in Arizona last week.
What will 2015 bring? We know of at least three weddings that will get us traveling– one in Philadelphia, one in the Bahamas, and our own(!!) back down the Cape. I’m pretty sure “adventure” is an understatement.
Wishing you so much love, health, and cheer in 2015. Happy New Year dear friends!

I love that you unapologetically acknowledged that you choose to leave certain things out– it’s okay to keep some things private and to have a happy place! Enjoy reading your blog. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! I agree that sometime I just want to focus on the fun and the glitter- and leave the other stuff behind in “real life” 🙂

Amen, amen- I love you don’t apologize for putting the content YOU want to on you blog (glitter and the good times, so well said). I’m the same way, I feel you. And it’s refreshing to hear someone vocalize it!
Happy 2015!
