I visited Paris with my family when I was 18, and what I remember most about the trip was, in fact, not climbing the Eiffel Tower, not seeing The Mona Lisa, not strolling the Champs Elysees, but dining at Ladurée. It certainly is where I discovered my love for French macarons, but it is also where I had one of my more memorable meals [not to mention, glasses of raspberry champagne]. The first US Ladurée bakery opened on Madison Ave in NYC a few years ago, but now its famous restaurant has arrived stateside as well!
During one of my recent trips to NYC, my dear friend Kelly and I had brunch at the new SOHO location with our mothers. It was just as perfect as I expected, and while our view wasn’t exactly the Champs Elysees, the atmosphere inside was just as wonderful.
Of course the macarons are still easily the best part– order some for the table, but grab a box to go from the bakery section as well!

we ate:: Salade Ladurée | Club Laduree (avoid if you do not like mayonnaise!) | Omelette with Fine Herbs Green Salad
we drank:: The [Tea] a la Vanille | Chocolat Chaud Ladurée mixed with Cafe Ladurée– get a pot of each to put together!
we indulged:: Rose, Vanilla, and Salted Caramel Macarons
