While I can certainly appreciate the value of a good Tory Burch clutch, sometimes I just need something a little more practical and easy on the wallet. And with summer coming up, I can’t help but get excited about the perfect carryall: oversized tote bags. Durable, endless pits, they are the best for beach days. And at these prices, I just can’t resist. Many of these finds also donate proceeds to charity
I get a ton of emails from stores every day, and while sometimes I appreciate the notice and get word of good sales out of them, a lot of times they’re just irritating. One mailing list I’m always happy to be on, though, is Urban Outfitter‘s. Today’s message in my inbox? They have over 80 new styles of sandals online!
Here are some of my favorites from the new spring collection, including some from every price range:
And while these certainly don’t fit my taste, you’ve gotta give them points for trying!
If you’re a big Urban shoe lover like I am, you can also sign up for their new UO Shoe Club Newsletter to receive exclusive discounts and contests. Can’t go wrong with that!
Post script: Please take a minute to admire my roommate Natasha’s shoe collection:
This is actually just a very small portion of that collection. How she got all of these out to LA for a semester and back I’ll never know.
When I hear Cinco de Mayo, I think bright colors, flowy fabrics, and margaritas. The warm weather of early May is the perfect time to debut your new bright summer dresses for this fun holiday. Now I know Cinco de Mayo is a day celebrating a Mexican victory, but Spain-based designer Desigual sure knows what they’re doing when it comes for colorful dresses, and I think they have some of the best picks for today’s fiestas. Most of their stores are in Europe, but there are a number of resellers in the US. For a full list, click here.
Here are a few pieces I’ve been lusting over, especially the skirt (graduation present anyone??)
The summer after my freshman year in college, a bunch of my friends and I had the amazing opportunity to spend two weeks in Greece. To prepare for the trip, my [female] roommates and I did two things together: 1. Got bikini waxes (TMI? Sorry!) and 2. Spent just about every last penny we owned buying dresses at Calypso St. Barth (we had to look the part, ok??). Four years later, our dream has come true, as Calypso is doing a line for Target as a part of their GO International Designer Collective. Available May 1 through June 11, the line will include summer and footwear for women and girls, plus accessories and homeware. Racked.com recently posted the complete lookbook and price list, and I couldn’t be more excited to snatch a few of these beautiful beachy pieces, especially at their much more affordable prices!

And for your entertainment, here’s Demetra and I freshman year on the island of Santorini wearing our sought-after Calypsos:
Ok ok, so I know it’s not Memorial Day yet, but I just can’t get this white dress out of my head! No exaggerations, I actually had a dream about it last night (#obsessed).
And Lilly’s marketing team sure knows what they’re doing because pairing this dress with the dark-rimmed glasses in the catalogue is what I think really caught my eye. Gives it a very cute and casual appeal, like you could get away with wearing it to class. There is also a three-quarter sleeve version if you’re stuck in New England like me without any hope of the temperature ever rising above 60!
