I physically cannot let go of summer this year.
Last weekend, we were down by the Boston Harbor when we decided to take advantage of tourists being gone for the season, and hop on the Liberty Clipper for a last-minute sunset sail. It was the perfect way to send off the season, and the fact that we didn’t plan far ahead of time made it all the more fun.

Tank, Gap | Scallop Scarf c/o Margaret Turner Designs | Coral Jeans c/o Articles of Society [last season; similar] | Starfish Cuff, BaubleBar [similar] | Tote, Longchamp | Boat Shoes, New England Outerwear
I wore my new scarf from Margaret Turner Designs. This scarf designer totally knows the way to my heart— seashell designs galore! Mine is cotton voile, but she also offers silk scarves, baby blankets, and watercolor prints now, all with this darling shell theme! You know I am just smitten.
pssst! Margaret was just featured in Coastal Living, so you know these are about to get big! Next on my wish list is her Starfish Skinny Scarf and Sand Dollar Surf Silk Scarf [how Lilly is this one?!].
ANYWAY, back to the cruise.
I tell ya, it’s downright magical seeing this beautiful city of ours from the water. Watching the sunset with a Dark & Stormy in hand wasn’t half-bad either. Can’t wait for an opportunity to do this again!

I didn’t even realize how ridiculously delayed this photo diary was, until I remembered we took a drive down to Newport right after the Fourth of July, and here we are almost in the middle of August! But it has allowed me to revisit a perfect summer day we spent visiting one of my best friends in Rhode Island, and wandering around the charming and perfectly nautical town of Newport.
Dress, Olive & Oak [similar 1; 2] | Clutch, Lilly Pulitzer [similar] | Ring, Pink Pineapple Shop | Bracelets, KJP; Oh Buoy Boston | Wedges, LAUREN Ralph Lauren [similar]
psst! My dress is from the adorable Slip Seventy Seven in Martha’s Vineyard. I know, I know, I promised we moved on from MVY posts, but if you’re ever on the island, you MUST check out this adorable boutique in Oak Bluffs!
Have you been to Newport? What are your favorite things to do there?

Can you think of a more perfect summer event? Jack Wills is hosting a Summer Boat Party on Martha’s Vineyard THIS Saturday, August 10th!
Board the Seastreak Ferry for a fashion show, cash bar, music by a live DJ, and an unbeatable ride around the Vineyard Sound. This is give-or-take my perfect night.
Tickets [ $20 ] must be purchased in advance, and all proceeds will help out with Martha’s Vineyard Fashion Week, coming up in September!
We were the ultimate tourists on Martha’s Vineyard based on the very fact that we got sucked into one of The Black Dog Tall Ships‘ sunset cruises. Though I have to say, signing up on a whim was one of our best decisions of the entire trip. We got to bring our own dinner + drinks on board, help raise the sails, and watch the sunset while sailing around the Vineyard Sound. I wouldn’t have traded this scenery for anything.
Have you done any of the sailboat cruises around New England?

Because it’s not over yet.
Sperrys + sea creatures
Sailboats on the Charles River
Treasures from the sea
Seaside towns + harbors
What do you get when you mix the Boston skyline, a sailing pavilion, pretty New England details, and a whole lot of love?
A really perfect wedding.
And how were your weekends?
Kelly and I have been friends since we were eight years old. We’ve always shared a love of Lilly Pulitzer, so I was far from surprised when she showed up for a visit last week sporting the same You Gotta Regatta print in a skirt that I was wearing in a dress. I’m featuring a double outfit post today since the opportunity was just too good to pass up! Hers a little more tailored and sophisticated, mine a little more free and hippie-esque, I think these looks perfectly describe our personalities, and why we’re best friends.
