[ Black Ruffle Racer Back Tank, $124 | Sloe Gin Fizz Sequin Skirt, $194 ]
Showing off one of my favorite New Year’s Eve party looks from Britt Ryan‘s Madmen-inspired holiday line! Because honestly, how can you ring in the new year without sequins?
[ Statement Necklace, $42 ]
[ Cream Cuff, $24 ]
Also loving this bea-ut-iful silk ruffle tank– the shirt version of yesterday’s berry-colored dress.
And that concludes my Britt Ryan series ladies! [see party looks #1 and #2] Have any of you Boston girls stopped by the shop on Newbury yet? If not, tonight’s your excuse! Joint the Britt Ryan team 12/5 at both the Boston and Georgetown locations for their Holiday Party! Sip champagne while you shop, and receive exclusive discounts. [But spend any amount and receive 10% off if you mention you're a shell chic'd reader :-)]
More holiday pieces are arriving each week, and you can see some additional snapshots here. Let me know if you pick up any goodies! xo
I’m back with another favorite party look from Britt Ryan‘s holiday collection! I adore this berry-colored dress, as it’s clearly festive, but a shade away from your typical Candy Cane Red. And the ruffles? So fun– and a Britt Ryan signature I’m beginning to see!
[ Joan T-Back Dress in Raspberry Red, $282 | Pearl Bracelet, $28 ]
[ Fifth Avenue Coat, $656 ]
This coat is also quite possibly one of my favorite articles of clothing I’ve encountered this year. It is butter-soft, and the photos cannot even begin to do the sweet detailing justice. Hey, if it’s going to be cold here for the next five+ months, might as well embrace it in style!
Remember, Britt Ryan is offering shell chic’d readers 10% off! If you’re not in the Boston area, you can order by phone or reach out to email@example.com. Follow them on Facebook for other offers + new products!

Bold prints. Classic shapes. Feminine details. Local brand. Does it really come as any surprise that I am thrilled to be working with Britt Ryan this season?!
I’ve partnered with Britt Ryan’s signature store, conveniently located here in Boston on Newbury, to show off some pieces from their stunning Madmen-inspired holiday collection. But first, in case you haven’t been in, I want to reveal how darling the boutique itself is. It’s pretty much like taking a step into my dream walk-in closet…
You all must know by now that I can’t resist a little black dress [I think they are the ultimate investment pieces; example a + b], so when store manager Christianna handed me this one with beaded details and a big ol’ bow, I swooned.
[ Draper Dress, $238 | Cream Cuff, $24 ]
pssst! And if you’ve got longer legs than me, it’s even more stunning!
I’ll be sharing more party-perfect looks from Britt Ryan this month + next, and if you’re not in the Boston area, don’t panic! Britt’s designs are sold in boutiques all across the US [click here for a full list], plus online at Tuckernuck [another favorite of mine!].
If you buy or order [firstname.lastname@example.org] from the Boston store, be sure to mention shell chic’d for 10% off your purchase! Holiday season is here you all—time to start stocking up on glittery essentials :)

Are you all as big of Warby Parker fans as I am? I’ve always always loved their style of glasses, but hadn’t gotten the chance to play with any in person until I used their Home Try-On program last month. Now I am beyond excited to have a Warby Parker retail store in Boston– right downtown on Newbury Street!
I joined fellow Boston bloggers a few weeks ago for a breakfast at their new Beantown location and was beyond impressed. The second-floor location overlooking Newbury was bright, spacious, and welcoming– what more do you need to try on glasses?
It still shocks me that all of the optical frames are only $95, prescription included.
I’m especially in love with all of the tortoise options! Pretty Ballard frames.
Don’t wear eyeglasses? Well lucky you! Tons of sunglasses options as well though [Downing frames pictured above].
You’ll have to come back tomorrow to see which pair I picked out… :) In the meantime, head on over there yourself!

I was so lucky to start last weekend off at Salon Mario Russo on Newbury Street, enjoying some sweet treats, chatting with fellow Boston bloggers, and playing with some 60s-style hairdos as a part of the salon’s beauty pop up bar!
I’ve gotten the chance to work with this salon before, and I can’t sing their praises enough. Last summer, stylist Sal gave me a textured side bun [that I resisted taking out for as long as possible] as a part of their Summer of Style series. Last week, their darling Leah gave me a fun little Brigitte Bardot poof, with loose curls and swept bangs [that I promptly messed up, but you see the idea].
They have a fantastic staff, and I really don’t think you could leave this beautiful corner of Newbury feeling any hint of disappointment.

My everyday style is definitely more East Coast than West Coast, but there’s something about California’s light and laid-back but still put-together way of dressing that I can’t help but love– especially in the warmer months.
No Rest For Bridget is a SoCal-based boutique that just opened its first store on the East Coast– conveniently for me and all you other Beantown gals, located on Newbury Street. Prices are super affordable, whether you’re looking for work wear, date night, or girls-night-out looks.
Virtually the entire store is organized by color. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited this makes me– when I shop, I’m shopping for specifics way more than I am browsing. I need a lavender dress for graduation. I’m looking for a pink top for my birthday. Really on the hunt for some mint jeans.
In addition to clothes, there’s jewelry and accessories galore. Color-coordinated, of course :)
You’ll also find fashion books and sweet accessories. I spotted the new Kate Spade book and this fashion title with Audrey gracing the cover!
Basically, run, don’t walk, to this store. If you’re not in Boston or California (see here for full list of locations), still be sure to follow NRFB on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated– more stores will be gracing the East Coast soon!

pssst! Because Bridget loves Boston, they are offering 20% off EVERYTHING in their Boston location from now until April 28. A portion of proceeds will be donated to help the victims + families of last week’s tragic events.
Have you all heard the good news? Keds and Madewell have partnered to bring you quite possibly one of the most adorable lines of sneakers ever. Last week, I attended a party at the store to celebrate the launch of the line, which so perfectly fits the Madewell style. The sneaks range in price from $62 to $75– choose from florals, eyelet, dots, and diamonds!
[ Eyelet Sneakers, $62 // Polka-Dot Sneakers, $62 ]
[ Floral High-Top Sneakers, $75 ]
[ Sun Garden Sneakers, $62 // Diamond Duo Sneakers, $62 ]
Especially love my new high-tops! Which are your favorites?
pssst! Any of you Bostonians looking for another great shopping event? This weekend, Gilt City Boston is hosting their bi-annual Warehouse Sale at Artists for Humanity in South Boston. You do not want to miss this opportunity to snag designer clothes and home accessories at up to 90% off retail prices(!!). Tickets are $10 [can be purchased here] and include your entrance fee, refreshments + snacks, entertainment, and a $20 Uber gift card to new users! What’s not to love? See you this Friday and Saturday!
On Saturday, Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau celebrated her 81st birthday, and Lilly lovers around the country celebrated as well. I stopped by Newbury Street’s In the Pink just long enough to fall in love with the entire store and toast to Lilly and the pink + green brand you can’t help but feel happy wearing. To learn more about Lilly herself, I highly suggest Kathryn Livingston’s Lilly: Palm Beach, Tropical Glamour, and the Birth of a Fashion Legend. I’m only a couple chapters in and am already in love.
pssst! Here are some current favorites I’m loving…!

A couple of weeks ago, my mother and I dressed for High Tea at Boston’s London Cafe on Newbury Street. Located beneath the boutique hotel Royalton Suites, the tearoom was intimate and welcoming. It didn’t have quite the cute factor of other tea shops I’ve visited in the area, with their dainty floral china and knit cozies, but it did feel quite traditional.
Any Boston friends have recommendations for other good tea rooms in the area?
September 6th marked Fashion’s Night Out in cities all across the country and all over the world. I was so impressed with Boston’s participation– for only being our second year hosting, the city really went all out. I took on Newbury Street for the night. Shopping, spending, and sipping ensued.
