Farm & Fable

You guys. I have discovered my new happy place.

Farm and Fable Boston

Farm & Fable is a new[ish] vintage cookbook and kitchenware store in the South End [if you like Anthropologie's home section, you'll never want to leave this shop]. Owner Abby hosted the best little get-together for some Boston Bloggers in the space, and I already can’t wait to get back there.

Vintage Cookbook Kitchen StoreWe made mulled wine + spice sachets and just had the best time. I’m dying to return for one of Abby’s cooking classes or Cookbook Club! This is a Boston gem really not to be missed.

I should mention they carry new cookbooks in addition to vintage ones, so please oh please for the love of all things holy and endangered, buy your cookbooks at a place like this. There are so few independent bookstores left and it hurts my heart to hear you say that you can get it cheaper on Amazon! #shoplocal

Tipsy Tuesday No. 11: Galentine Bar Cart

Valentine's Day Bar Cart

I’m sensing a seasonal project coming on… I loved the look of our bar “cart” all decked out at Christmastime, so I thought I’d try my hand at dolling it up for Valentine’s Day. My male roommate is far from impressed at its glitter-soaked girly-girl state, but how perfect would it be for a little Galentine’s Day party?

Anthro Kitchen Favorites

I will be the first to admit that I am a terrible embarrassment to my day job as a cookbook publisher: Not only am I an extremely mediocre cook (and that’s being generous), but I also have the most despicable kitchen! Blame it on my 100-year-old North End apartment and its lack of counter and storage space, but daily, I dream of having a beautiful, light kitchen, with enough room to a) spread out and, well, cook, and b) store and display such beautiful kitchen goodies as these:

Anthropologie Kitchen

[ 1 ] Bistro Canisters, $14-$24
[ 2 ] Jardin de Plantes Spoons, $8-$10
[ 3 ] Farmers Market Basket, $14
[ 4 ] Pedal Power Dishtowel, $22
[ 5 ] 1932 Bergamo Mini Cookware, $48
[ 6 ] Glittering Silverware, $34-$78 (also available in gold!)
[ 7 ] Stripes Abound Apron, $36
[ 8 ] Whale Cutting Board, $98
[ 9 ] Chroma Juice Press, $175

What would you fill your dream kitchen with?

Tipsy Tuesday No.10: For All the Lovers Out There

The true January temperatures are back this week… meaning the only sort of social drinking I will be doing in the foreseeable future is most likely going to have hot chocolate as a base. This spiked mocha-like drink is the perfect mix of coffee, chocolate, and spirits, and—looking ahead to Valentine’s Day next month—is quite seasonally themed.

Tipsy Tuesday No. 7: Holiday Bar Cart Style

Christmas Bar Cart Style

My “bar cart”–which may not exactly be a cart at all but gets the job done–had been a great work in progress for a couple months, full of pink + sparkly details, just waiting to make its debut. Until I realized, at least for this time of year, it was better suited to be paired with our mini Christmas tree, twinkle lights, and ingredients to make loads of Peppermint and/or Cinnamon Spiked Hot Chocolate (more on that later!).

It’ll return to its normal state soon, but for the time being, it’s adding lots of holiday cheer to our apartment!

Tipsy Tuesday No. 4: Target Bar Carts

Winter-Styled Bar Cart

[ Threshold Bar Cart, Target, $130 ]

How excited was I to discover that Target carries bar carts?! As much as I adore Society Social’s designs, these come at a bit prettier price. I especially love this Threshold version [pictured above], with its wood and brass finish, but this solid wood design with a built-in wine rack is also pretty tempting!

Have you splurged on a bar cart yet? Where did you find yours?
