All Dressed Up with Lindt Chocolate & Cheer

Lindt Christmas Chocolate

I distinctly remember the year the first LINDT store opened in my town. From then on, each Easter my mother would gift my brother and me with a LINDT GOLD BUNNY, and each Christmas with a LINDT BEAR. We always open our stockings last, and between the practical items like mini shampoos and new pens, it was always the best treat to find that decadent chocolate bear.

LINDT BEAR // Holiday Party Nails

I am so thrilled to be partnering with LINDT this season to show off this favorite holiday indulgence of mine. As you can see, LINDT BEAR makes the perfect accessory for a holiday party look, as it’s the hostess gift every party-giver wants to receive!

Red Plaid Christmas Dress

You’re never too old to give or receive LINDT BEAR. From a stocking stuffer to a hostess gift, it’s a present sure to put a smile on the recipient’s face. And my personal favorite thing about this festive holiday treat? No matter where I’m spending Christmas [and I've spent it in a lot of places!], one bite of the smooth milk chocolate, and I’m instantly back in my childhood home, unwrapping gifts with my parents and brother under our long-gone family tree.

Jack Wills Plaid Charlton Dress

LINDOR Chocolate Truffle Sticks

Another perfect item to stuff a stocking with is the Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffle Bar. It’s the same smooth, melting milk chocolate that we know and love as truffles, but in on-the-go form perfect for carrying around in your purse during long afternoons of Christmas shopping, or for sneaking into a Christmas stocking!

How does Lindt Chocolate fit into your holiday memories?

Snail Mail

last minute birthday cards

I’ve met some really beautiful people in Boston over the last few years, and am so grateful for those new friendships. Yet my best best college friends— you know, those ones you picture during movies like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Lizzie McGuire Movie [I did just admit that]— are spread out all over the country now, from Maine to Philadelphia to Hollywood, and everywhere in between.

personalized greeting cards

And we can email. And we can Gchat. And we can Skype and call and text and tweet. But there is something to be said for a good old fashioned letter. I do love stationary, but after writing a few notes in a row, I grow tired of it [that just-had-to-have-it-Kate-Spade-set, mind you]. I want to give each friend something more personal. Enter: Cardstore.com.

photo 2

I sent my friend Samantha in LA a just-because friendship card [though choose from birthday//baby//wedding//anniversary//sympathy//invitation//the list goes on!]. The design was so cute that I hardly wanted to mess with it, but I did add a couple photos and, of course, a note on the inside. Personalizing it ended up being the most fun part [other than hearing from her when she received it!].

cardstore review

For only $3, plus the price of postage, I can’t think of a better way to brighten her day, and I can’t wait to send a batch of these around. Plus, you can pick the send date, so if you’re one to forget important details like birthdays and anniversaries, you can create and schedule your cards ahead of time!

Cardstore is offering 30% off all purchases today and tomorrow with code CCL3030. So go ahead, make your friends’ day :)

Disclosure: I received a code to send one free card with this service; all opinions expressed are my own.

Postscript: Thanks Samanth for the photos!

Your Clothes, Your Color, Your Cause

beacon and brewster

Today I’m featuring the wonderful beacon & brewster. Oh be still my lighthouse-adoring, charity-loving prepster heart. This is quality clothing company with a big-hearted mission.

pink polo shirt womens

We all know that certain colors represent different causes— pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, green for Leukemia & Lymphoma, purple for Alzheimer’s (and Epilepsy!), yellow for support of our troops, and so on. beacon & brewster donates 25% of the sales price directly to the charity of the corresponding color. This is one of the more perfect examples I’ve seen of shopping for a cause.

Choose your charity: Alzheimer’s Association, Boston Children’s Hospital, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, Fallen Patriot Fund, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Breast Cancer Coalition, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Delta Gamma Foundation, or list another!

Pink Polo c/o beacon & brewster | Boyfriend shorts, Target | Anchor belt, ASOS | Wrap bracelet, KJP for Brooks Brothers | Boat shoes c/o New England Outerwear

Like my New England Outerwear boat shoes, these polos are manufactured in New England with all American-made materials. And did you notice the sweet lighthouse logo? From b&b:
“As a recognized symbol of reassurance and hope to sailors as they navigated difficult waters, the lighthouse underscores our hope of providing support to the charities we donate to through the sales of our shirts.”

pink and navy sweater

So next time you’re on the market for a new polo or tee [for men, women, and children], I hope you’ll consider beacon & brewster— I have my eye on the lilac shirt for my next purchase! Which reminds me— summer is coming to an end, oddly meaning that the holiday season is already upon us. How thoughtful of a gift would be one that benefits more than just the recipient? Now you’re able to donate money in your friends’ and families’ names, while still giving them something physical to keep. Cold Christmas? No problem— I’ve been having fun layering my polo with sweaters, so I can definitely attest to this being a year-round purchase!

I’ve always been a bit of a bag lady. When I was younger, I told people I wanted to be Kate Spade when I grew up. While I haven’t gone on to become a purse designer (yet at least!), I have such admiration for those who are. Meet Sarah from Sew Sarah R, whose pages upon pages of clutch designs have me drooling.
