I thought about searching for some indulgent, chocolatey Valentine cocktail to style + share today, but then I realized it’s also my #birthdayweek… and birthdays are more of an excuse to drink anyway :)
I love most things about being a February baby, minus the winter weather [fun party dresses are always accompanied by lotsa layers]. But THIS COAT. This is a party coat! And with an Italian 75 in hand–one cocktail that embraces my love for Prosecco + lemon but also looks toward brighter, summery days with the addition of pear–I’d be a happy birthday girl.

french 75 from good spirits by a.j. rathbun
[ ingredients ]
1 oz gin
1/2 oz pear grappa
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
lemon twist for garnish
[ directions ]
1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the gin, grappa, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake as if you were standing in line for the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, and could only get to the front by demonstrating prodigious shaking ability.
2. Strain the mix into a flute glass. Top it off with chilled Prosecco, and garnish with the lemon twist.

I wore this [what I like to refer to as] daytime party look out for a birthday lunch last week. The mix of denim, tulle polka dot skirt, and glitter stilettos definitely reminded me of a late 80s Carrie Bradshaw. I intended for it to be a fun, birthday girl-esque outfit I might not normally wear during the day, but let’s be honest– Carrie would probably rock this on a Tuesday at breakfast.
Luckiest girl in the world right here. So grateful for the chance to spend my 24th birthday with some of my best friends and best family. They spoiled me to infinity and beyond, as you’ll see from the snapshots below. And thank you all for your sweet tweets + comments as well, looking forward to an exciting + sparkly year! xx
And one of the best gifts of all? I’m featured on LaurenConrad.com as their Chic of the Week! Check out the feature here and the original [so anthro] outfit post here.
Happy Friday friends! This little girl turns a year older today, and I’m hoping to celebrate with lots of glitter, gold, and pink champagne drinks– won’t you join me?

With my birthday coming up this week, I have party dresses on my mind! Lilly‘s spring collection has hit stores, and how I wish I could be rocking one of these to celebrate!

Alas, there’s still a bit too much snow on the ground, so I’m guessing my birthday dress will cover a little more and be a little more closed-toe, but rest assured I’ll still be sticking to the Lilly mantra life’s a party // dress like it :)
