I am LOVING all of the oxford booties I have been seeing lately for fall! Mary Janes are usually my go-to heels to wear with tights, but I’m thinking investing in a pair of these may not be a horrible idea…
Whatcha think?

Linking up with a {little} dash of ash with all those Instagrams! But I finally dragged out the old dslr this weekend too… Like mother, like daughter in our Anthropologies!

FINALLY linking up with {av} at long distance loving for a Friday’s Fancies! This week’s theme is the cozy side of fall. Now I haven’t tried this skirt on, but for some reason I just get the feeling that it actually is really comfortable… has anyone tried it IRL and can confirm? If it’s not, oops…
Leather Bow Clip, American Apparel, $16
Chain Channel Pullover, Anthropologie, $98
Petal to the Metal Clutch, Marc Jacobs, $278
Sequinned Miniskirt, Zara, $129
Minnetonka Triple Fringe Boot, Urban Outfitters, $90
Either way, I am lusting over it. Any of you seen a version under $130 yet?? Or is a good sequin skirt this season going to be a bank breaker?
And oh man, those MJ Petal to the Metal bags. Still loving them after all this time and still can’t afford them.
I cannot believe today is the first day of fall. I’ve been dreading it for some reason this year (maybe since it’s the first fall I’m not back at school?), but today I’ve decided to embrace it fully. Bring on the pumpkins, cider, costumes, hayrides, and leaves. I’m ready for you now autumn, no turning back.

Awkward:
-Freaking this poor girl out the other night, as I just happened to be walking in the same direction as her for approximately ten minutes. You could totally tell she thought I was creeping and following her when in actuality there really is only one way to get to my apartment and probably hers as well. Every time she turned her head around I wanted to yell that I wasn’t following her but I thought that had a high possibility of making the situation even worse.
-Getting carded in the one liquor store in the city that is known for not carding. Being the first in the line of about six people to receive said carding. Oh wait, I guess that’s my hairbow you’re talking to. I’m not 12 I promise.
-Lip syncing Ke$ha while waiting for the subway. In my raincoat and soggy Sperrys. Oh I was a sight to all who had to walk by me.
-When I can’t decode the word verifications while commenting so I look like a spammer! Seriously, is it just me or are some of those really hard to decipher??
-Somehow these shoes are too small and too big at the same time. Bizarre-ing me out.
Awesome:
-My first “college” experience with my younger brother. Well, I’m not in college anymore, he is. I can’t wait for the day I run into him at a bar instead of just a party now that we’re in the same city. This could also just as easily be classified as awkward.
-Getting to spend a little time with my dad over the weekend! Football, fried bologna sandwiches, and a ride to work. And ok there was some economy talk too, but we’ll forgive him for that.
-Tiramisu cakepops. Heaven.

Despite the chill, I’m still refusing to wear pants. So, bring on the layers baby!
I wrote about tying an oxford over a dress way back when, and that is one of the best things I’m learning about blogging– it’s forcing me to adopt my own ideas. And, though it does tempt some shopping every now and then (ok, a lot), it’s also inspiring me to put together old pieces into new outfits. I mean, American Eagle and A&F? These guys have been in my closet for quite some time, but they’re classics, and now they’re getting a revival!
I can’t be alone in this, how is blogging influencing your own personal style and wardrobe?
As I was assembling today’s Tuesday shoe post on rainboots I stopped and thought never mind– I’m done with my two-year-long span of browsing for rainboots. I’m just gonna get ’em.
And I came come with these beauties…
So sorry my loyal readers, no Zappos Tuesday for you today. I’ll return next week with six picks for you all instead of showing off my own 🙂 [sorry about that….]
It’s Sunday, so if you’re in Boston, why aren’t you at the SoWa Open Market?
I spent last weekend there as a part of rendez-vous new england, but had been before since my friends all used to play soccer at a nearby field and we would sneak away during half times of their games…!
It’s open every Sunday from the beginning of May until the end of October, and it is chock-full of vendors: jewelry, art, furniture, crafts. SO hard to keep your wallet in your pocket. Plus, there’s a vintage market inside. Terribly tempting.
There were three vendors that definitely stood out from the rest though:
Grey’s Fabric and Notions: This fabric/sewing shop, though a big name at SoWa, actually has a permanent location here everyday, not open just with the market. Our group met here, and even though the store isn’t huge, I could have spent hours just walking around and soaking in all of the beautiful details. So very grateful that they hosted us.
Recycled SilverWear by John Atkinson: I found this jewelry vendor inside in the Vintage Market and could not resist making a purchase. I’ve had a spoon ring for years and have seen spoon bracelets once or twice before, but never as pretty and as good quality as these. Going to be hard to resist going back for more!
Lady Luxe: Another vintage shop, and one I wish I could have spent more time in. Lovely clothes, hats, and accessories. I’m in LOVE with the sparkly bow brooch I picked up, and the gold sequin key holder– so perfect for slipping into an evening bag at night rather than my chunky lanyard! Lady Luxe also has a permanent location in Cambridge, click here for info.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day:
Have you been to SoWa? Any specific vendors I should check out? There are just so many!

Awkward:
-Thinking flip flops would be a much more sensible choice than heels for traveling footwear when actually they gave me such bad blisters before I even got to put my heels on! No thank you OldNavyOneDollarFlipFlops.
-The poor LF employee I walked by yesterday who had to stand outside the store telling every single person who walked by the very busy street “Heyyyy come on in check out our deals only sale of the seeeasonnnn.”
-Walking into Forever 21 as a postgrad felt like being spotted in my old college dining hall. I felt so old and out of place. I didn’t even see anyone I had gone to school with but it was that same terrible feeling of oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-get-caught-on-campus-after-graduation. Hmm, awkward that I do already know what that feels like too? Whatever, I’ll deal as F21 is a necessity.
-Changing your Facebook relationship status. Ugh.
-Being packed on the subway like a sardine, hearing a man behind me breathing so heavily and loudly, turning around to see if he’s ok as it sounds like he is running a marathon, and him just chowing down on an Egg McMuffin. Must have been really energy consuming…?
-Tripping up the stairs in a very public place. Flashing everyone because I was in a dress. Ruining my shoes. Classic story. Had to include it.
-Buying a 4 oz container of goat cheese instead of 8 oz and not realizing it until I sat down to eat the pasta at my last-minute pseudo dinner party and couldn’t figure out why the cheese cream sauce barely covered it.
Awesome:
-Getting free sample packs of olive oil to use for said dinner party.
-My friend Kayla Harrity starring in a new mini-series, The Rookie Bartender. It is the funniest thing and so worth your while to watch. And it’s only 5 minutes long so you kind of sort of have no excuse.
-Finally buying a pair of colored denim! Pink, if you will 🙂
–Little sissy coming to visit this weekend.
-Friends. Oh my god friends. Mine have been everything to me this week. Can’t thank them enough.

I’m holding on to these last few days of warm{ish} weather still and am refusing to wear pants until I absolutely have to! But I do figure it’s at least time to start embracing fall colors, and I love the neutrals and browns in this outfit I wore to SoWa during rendez-vous new england last weekend.
Also, that turtle belt? Blogged about it months ago here, and just recently found it at the bottom of an Urban Outfitters sale bin! #goodday
Zippity shoe da, Zappos Tuesday….
I don’t think it’s any secret that leopard is one of the biggest trends to be sporting this fall, especially when it comes to footwear. Personally, I’m excited for it– no longer is leopard being seen as tacky (or is it still to you? I want to hear your thoughts!). But I am KICKING myself because I have been searching for weeks now for an old pair of leopard flats I had in high school and I’m finally admitting to myself I think I must have thrown them out years ago, never stopping to believe that animal print would actually come back in. Little did I know!
But alas, I’m now without them and instead have my eyes on these beauties now…
Think this is a style to stay or still too trendy? I say a little leopard isn’t so bad.
